Getting started
How much space do we need?
+
Permanent farm walls are modular and start from 2 m wide, sized to your space. Our mobile capsule, used for pop-ups, is 1.6 m wide, 0.5 m deep and 2.4 m tall.
Do we need plumbing or building works?
+
No. Grobrix runs on a closed-loop system and doesn’t connect to water mains. Our farmers refill the reservoirs and nutrients on their regular visits. Each farm needs one power point.
How long does installation take?
+
A permanent farm arrives pre-assembled and takes our team about 2 hours to set up, with no power tools and very little mess. A mobile pop-up farm is ready in about 30 minutes.
Can we try it before we commit?
+
Yes. Our one-month pop-up brings a mobile farm and two hosted workshops to your office. 100% of the pop-up fee is credited toward a permanent farm if you continue.
How is Grobrix priced?
+
We charge a monthly all inclusive maintenance fee that includes all agricultural inputs. Every space is different, so we quote after a short call.
How long is the contract?
+
Our farming contracts can be as short as just one year. Our pop ups however allow you to experience the Grobrix offering with a much shorter commitment period of a few weeks.
Which countries do you serve?
+
Singapore, Malaysia and the USA. In the US we partner with Boston-based Green City Growers.
02
The farm
What can we grow?
+
More than 50 varieties of non-GMO leafy greens, herbs, fruits and edible flowers. We plant seedlings that already have a 3-week head start, so there’s no germination to manage.
How much does a farm produce?
+
It depends on the crop. As a guide, each Grobrix unit grows around 4 kg of lettuce a month. Herbs such as basil yield less.
How long do the plants take to grow?
+
Each crop has its own cycle. Some, like many herbs, are harvested again and again. Others are harvested in one go after about 2 weeks and replaced with a fresh seedling.
Is the produce organic?
+
Our produce is grown without chemical pesticides, but it isn’t certified organic. The grow plugs it’s planted in are made from coco coir and plant bark, and are compostable and biodegradable.
How is hydroponic growing different from soil?
+
In soil, worms and bacteria break down organic matter into the nutrients roots absorb. In hydroponics we skip that step and deliver those same nutrients directly to the roots in water, which is cleaner indoors.
Are the grow lights UV?
+
No. UV light sits between 100 and 400 nanometres. Our in-house light spectrum uses wavelengths from 400 to 780 nanometres.
How much power does it use?
+
An installation of 4 units draws a maximum of 400 W. With the lights on 12 hours a day, that’s around 150 kWh a month, roughly SGD 40 at 2026 tariffs.
Is Grobrix patented?
+
Yes. Grobrix holds a utility patent in the United States and has patents pending in other countries.
03
Service and harvest
Who looks after the farm?
+
We do. Every farm is fully managed: our urban farmers visit every week to plant, maintain and harvest, and each farm is monitored from the cloud.
Does our team need any gardening experience?
+
None at all. Our team runs the farm and can teach your people as much or as little as they’d like to learn.
What about pests?
+
Because we don’t use chemical pesticides, small pests can occasionally appear, as they can on any fresh produce. Our farmers check every wall each week and deal with anything early.
What happens to the harvest?
+
[Confirm: e.g. your team harvests together at regular harvest sessions and takes produce home, or your kitchen or café uses it.]
Do you run workshops?
+
Yes. We run 10 hosted, one-hour farm-to-table workshops, from smoothie bars to an urban farming masterclass.

Impact
How does a farm support our sustainability goals?
+
A farm on site cuts food miles, avoids single-use plastic packaging and reduces food waste, and it makes sustainability visible to everyone in the office. As a guide, a 6-unit wall growing lettuce produces around 290 kg a year, avoiding an estimated 1,900 single-use plastic wrappers, 140 kg of food waste and 33,000 L of water. It can also contribute toward building certifications such as BCA Green Mark and WELL.
How do you calculate your impact figures?
+
Our impact figures are estimates, based on four assumptions: each Grobrix unit grows around 4 kg of lettuce a month; half of shop-bought leafy greens are typically wasted; each 150 g of produce replaces one plastic-wrapped pack; and growing 1 kg of lettuce in soil uses about 126 L of water, of which vertical farming saves around 90%.
